Today after church I grabbed a chocolate chip cookie and started to eat it, only until Porter managed to snatch in out of my hand when I wasn't looking. I didn't have the heart to take it away from him and he started to nibble on it. Jared and I got distracted in our conversation, and when we looked back at Porter the cookie was gone and this is what we saw. He was a mess, but boy was he happy. We both were laughing, and I had to get the camera. I know this will change, but right now he can't do anything wrong, it is all cute.

Labor Day Weekend - Joes Valley
Jared, Porter and I returned home late last night from a weekend of fun at Joes Valley Reservoir. Robby and Jennie found three cabins right next to eachother for dirt cheap. We had a lot of fun, and ate lots of yummy food. We enjoyed 4wheeling, canooing, swimming, golfing, campfires, playing and visiting. We can't wait to do it again!
Labor Day Weekend - Golfing in Ferron, UT
We got an early start Friday so that we could stop in Ferron, UT which was only 9 miles from the turn off to Joe's Valley. They had a really scenic golf course, and we met Richard and Lisa there. Lisa and I couldn't golf since we had three kiddies to look after, but we had fun driving the guys around in the golf carts. We didn't expect the kids to last the entire time, but they actually loved it much to our surprise.
Labor Day Weekend - Off to Joe's Valley Reservoir
The car ride was interesting. We had a few detours getting off, but Porter was a total trooper. His Dad hooked him up with a portable DVD player so he could get a little Baby Einstein in. He played with blocks, had some snacks, and took a nap. He woke up when we got pulled over for speeding. Jared sweet talked the police and got a warning. He is just too likeable, I wouldn't have had the same result.
Our Sweet Porter Jay
Summer Swimming
Porter and I have sure enjoyed swimming this summer. We had Season Passes to Seven Peaks, but our favorite swimming spot has been the Lehi Legacy Center. The water is as warm as our bath tub, and they have perfect spots for babies and toddlers. I am excited because it is "indoors" and that means that all our fun does not have to end once winter comes. I never think to bring my camera around water activities, but finally I brought it to capture Porter having fun at the pool. For any of you that are local and have not been to the Legacy Center, you have to try it out!

9 Month Checkup
This morning Porter had his 9 month check-up. I am freaking out, how is time going by so quickly? I about had a heart attack when I set up his next appointment when he will be ONE YEAR OLD! What?? I am dying here. 1 Year old marks the "you're no longer a baby" stage. No! Anyways, so the torture began by pricking his foot to get blood to test for iron deficiency. He jumped and then laughed at the nurse as she scraped the blood off his foot. Then he got 2 shots - 1 in each leg. That made him cry but he stopped as soon as I picked him up. I gave him a sucker for being so good. He cried 10X harder when I took the sucker away so I could get his clothes back on. Ha. He was 90th percentile for pretty much everything (weight, height, and head). Still a chunker.
Here is a recent picture of him getting ready to eat some yummy yogurt. Last week the grocery store was out of the combo pack that I normally buy. I love them because they are a bit smaller than the individual sized yogurts, the PERFECT amount for Porter. So I start looking at the other combo packs and find a Fiber one in the same brand with the smaller size I like. So I buy it. Bad news bears. Poopy diaper after poopy diaper after poopy diaper. I know, what was I thinking? And why did it take me 3 days to figure out what it was? I don't know, dumb moment.

Sleep Talker
My awesome husband Jared talks in his sleep occassionally. Since I don't hear very well, I always ask him "what?" one too many times that it wakes him up and he cannot recall saying anything. I will tell him that he was talking in his sleep and he will ask "What did I say?" and I cannot tell him of course because I couldn't make it out, and so he doesn't believe me. I have only made out his little comments twice. Once he woke me up to tell me that "(someone, can't remember their name now) hit it over the fence for a home run". The next morning I was so excited to be able to tell him WHAT he said, and his eyes lit up and said "Oh yeah that happened when I was 14 and it was one of the most amazing hits ever." Like it was no big deal. What? Well a couple nights ago Jared wakes me up and says "Would you like a Halls?" "A Halls??" I ask. And he says, "Yes they're for your throat and they taste really good!" I am confused and I say "No." And he says "Oh ok," and falls back to sleep. The next day I tell him and he thinks it is funny, but says that he bought some Halls for his throat because it would get dry at night. Later that day he INSISTED that I try one, because they really were SO good. Ha.

He is SOO close!
So I just had to share that Porter is SOO dang close to crawling! He is constantly getting on all fours and going through the following process before starting all over again. He has got the basics down and we are thinking any day now he is just going to start moving around the house. Here is what he is doing all day everyday.

Starts sitting up.
