The boys took of their shirts and shoes and swam in the water and later we attempted to teach them how to skip rocks, which we failed, and spent the next hour trying to get our own rocks to skip. The weather was 81 degrees- gorgeous. Even Aubrey held her own and filled up her bag with eggs. The kids loved looking for eggs and even had fun hiding eggs for each other after. It's no surprise that the kids love coming here. There are always so many fun surprises for them. We love being here. <div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0brOkbLm0c9_AQffR7B39-zu0Df_f7oUY5Ka5FQ7ZUmLW1KNYFXIqB8KbQvcM68BtxEs_dJngSKN4cWnBQcAe1LU-shLIro5qXp4ejk3gHQvG4wwMnpPFlfeuI84wWIVxyqNVHm2coig/s640/blogger-image--1275849154.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0brOkbLm0c9_AQffR7B39-zu0Df_f7oUY5Ka5FQ7ZUmLW1KNYFXIqB8KbQvcM68BtxEs_dJngSKN4cWnBQcAe1LU-shLIro5qXp4ejk3gHQvG4wwMnpPFlfeuI84wWIVxyqNVHm2coig/s640/blogger-image--1275849154.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08525802462208187890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-137676061595773055.post-25836206801556487212014-04-03T13:48:00.001-07:002014-04-03T13:48:14.393-07:00Family Date NightWe took the kids to dinner which is always... It will probably be the only time this will happen. One of the boys on Porters team broke his arm and they needed an extra player. Tyson was SOOO excited. He scored three times this day. It's so funny to see a bunch of 6 year olds chasing a 3 yr old who dribbles across the whole field and scores. And porters reactions are priceless. He would run and pick Tyson up in the air and carry him back to the line. I love these boys and I love their relationship with each other. We celebrated at their choice, Taco Bell. :)<br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnAO3l0ony3rIc5iQ2rNVH5xSgU5N63ktBd6bKfo9-G7wz3bsCTW6V2U_sQL2IIfZO3JAVd570k4huGSO7AMkJ4xL0qHudEJl6NgOTzdE9E7TBm1EHttGyzl-SS2iLxG6ziWLNFUaNr9E/s640/blogger-image-582959642.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnAO3l0ony3rIc5iQ2rNVH5xSgU5N63ktBd6bKfo9-G7wz3bsCTW6V2U_sQL2IIfZO3JAVd570k4huGSO7AMkJ4xL0qHudEJl6NgOTzdE9E7TBm1EHttGyzl-SS2iLxG6ziWLNFUaNr9E/s640/blogger-image-582959642.jpg"></a>I </div>Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08525802462208187890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-137676061595773055.post-89045365494711992502014-04-03T13:25:00.001-07:002014-04-03T13:25:55.669-07:00Sleeping beauty!This is what happened when I tried to push back nap time past lunch. First I needed a rod to hang these beauties on. I started to look online for bay window curtain rods and they are a pretty penny... more than I wanted to spend. I did a little searching online, combined a few ideas that other people had and ended up making my own curtain rods for around $10. That's one curtain rod for a regular window, and another for my bay window for a killer price. Boo yeah! <div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>Shopping List:</b></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>2 - 1/2 inch PVC conduit ($1.48/pc at Home Depot)</li>
<li>2 - 1/2 inch 45 degree PVC elbow pieces ($0.68/pc at Home Depot)</li>
<li>1 - Bag of 3/4" One Hole Straps - 4 in a bag - next to PVC Conduit ($0.99 at Home Depot)</li>
<li>1 - 1 Can Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze Spray Paint ($6.60 at Home Depot)</li>
<li>2 - 11/16 x 17/32 Sealing Corks ($0.68/pc at Lowes in Hardware drawers - not sold at Home Depot)</li>
<li>1 - Package of 1/4" x 1 1/2" wood dowell screws ($0.99 at Home Depot)</li>
<li>1 - Bag of Wooden Ball Knobs 1 3/4" size - 6 in bag - for finials ($3.99 at Hobby Lobby (or) $2.40 with 40% off coupon)</li>
<li>1 - 4-pack of 1" corner braces ($1.99 at Home Depot)</li>
</ul>
<div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 1- Measure the width of the middle section of your bay window. Subtract 5 inches from that number and that is what you are going to cut your first piece of PVC to. (Why subtract 5 inches? You need to subtract 3.5 inches from each side for the elbow pieces. Then you need to add 2 more inches because 1 inch of each end of PVC will be lost when it slides into those elbow pieces.) Cut your 1st middle piece. It should have straight edges on both ends.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKTuM4vScKEpBzGXB3VFyD66m9vEN8M9IwNhw1dszXSvchVLU2L8UlJSZFcwqoWqkXge04O3gz4K5jtEm7WuGpxoefVNC4QREPAmTmEsuDsvcYprAJckK6220NfcPO_CoSiJXqCEvo8pY/s1600/IMG_2207.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKTuM4vScKEpBzGXB3VFyD66m9vEN8M9IwNhw1dszXSvchVLU2L8UlJSZFcwqoWqkXge04O3gz4K5jtEm7WuGpxoefVNC4QREPAmTmEsuDsvcYprAJckK6220NfcPO_CoSiJXqCEvo8pY/s1600/IMG_2207.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
</div>
<div>
Step 2 - Place your cut PVC on the ground below your window and slide the elbows into place. Make sure that the curves match up correctly. Assuming all is well, you can now take your outside bay window measurements and subtract 2.5" and cut. (Again, subtract 3.5 inches for the elbow, and add the 1" that will slide into the elbow.) Slide them into place and make sure it fits the wall correctly.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwEm4ockf5o8_ojnU10NopUIe8_nMQxcmjk3N1NOVZAEffEu2OLdZIhxRtI4GDtJqSz5pakuDYMPe2c3wwhp5t07I69qjDJP2pu6XfPphBNPNBskS3XnthSDGiSBp7lxrJH9Otni7VAmE/s1600/IMG_2214.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwEm4ockf5o8_ojnU10NopUIe8_nMQxcmjk3N1NOVZAEffEu2OLdZIhxRtI4GDtJqSz5pakuDYMPe2c3wwhp5t07I69qjDJP2pu6XfPphBNPNBskS3XnthSDGiSBp7lxrJH9Otni7VAmE/s1600/IMG_2214.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 3 - Next you are going to want to pull out your "one hole straps" and your "corner braces". You are now going to make the brackets that will attach your rod to the wall. You will need some small screws and nuts to hold these together. I had some at the house.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Step 4 - Next you will want to take out your dowell screws, and your wooden balls that will be your curtain finials. Using pliers hold your dowell tightly in the middle of the screw. With your opposite hand screw the wooden ball onto the dowell until it meets the middle.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 6 - Grab some newspapers and all of your parts and head outside to spray paint. I found it helpful to get an old shoe box lid to stick my finals into while I painted them. Again, I used Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze which gave it a metallic finish and turned it from plastic PVC to a realistic looking metal rod. It takes about 30 minutes to dry, and I applied a second coat.</div>

Here is a close-up of what the finish looks like dried.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 7 - Once everything is dried, grab your ladder, and a drill. Using a stud finder, or the good old knocking method, find a stud and drill your brackets into the wall. I chose to hang mine as close to the ceiling as possible to make the room appear taller. (Tip: Instead of measuring every time to make sure it's even, get a piece of cardstock paper and cut a template to hold up against the wall to make it the same every time.)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After all your brackets are in place, hang your rod on! And of course, don't forget to screw the finials into the end!</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It is always so wonderful to be back in California in the gorgeous weather and around family we love and miss! We dream of one day being able to enjoy these times on a regular basis. Maybe one day!!<br />

A house full of kids is what you will find at our house most afternoons. The boys have been blessed with lots of kids in their little neighborhood and they spend hours together every day. I torture myself by posting these pictures now, when the backyard is covered in 2 feet of snow. Now they are cooped up inside doing their flips and tricks on couch cushions instead. :)</div>

Back in November Porter had his 6th birthday. I am in denial, I don't know how he is already six years old! My days of attempting elaborate birthday parties are long gone. I no longer have the energy, time or desire to sit behind a sewing machine and create darling little party favors and create the cute little parties that I have tried to do in the past. This year we kept things simple, we took all the kids to Classic Fun Center in Orem where the kids did the skating rink, bounce house, and climbing gym. They let me bring in my own cake and party favors and the kids got to play for an hour and a half for only $2/kid. It was the BEST birthday party ever, and I spent a week wondering why in the world I didn't do this sooner? It was so fun to be able to have a party that was fun for my son and all his little friends, and not have any stress or mess. We loved it! Happy Birthday to the most creative little guy I know!</div>

One of our little traditions, taking pictures by the Christmas tree on Christmas Sunday. This was as good as it was going to get this year. Snow boots, snotty noses, silly faces and all. It's more realistic anyway, sometimes that is just how we roll!!!!!!!Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08525802462208187890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-137676061595773055.post-44543660746166297822013-12-28T09:42:00.000-08:002013-12-28T09:42:40.478-08:00Christmas Day<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Christmas eve while I was cooking the doorbell rang and we all went to the door to see who was there. Nobody was at the door but a box wrapped in brown paper and twine sat at the doorstop with a little tag that said Robbins on it. Upon closer look the tag said it was from Santa. The stamp was labeled the North Pole, and Priority Sleigh Mail! We opened it up and found brand new pajamas, perfect for a Christmas Eve night.<br />
The kids woke up early Christmas morning, and we made them wait until Aubrey was awake, which ended up being about 7 or 7:30am. The cookies and carrots we had left were nothing but crumbs now and in their place were letters from Santa, and treats for us. And the room was filled with gifts galore. We read the letters that Santa left while we waited for Aubrey to wake up, and the kids shook the gifts and tried to imagine what was inside. It would have been the perfect time to take pictures before the tornado hit, but I didn't. But imagine a scene that is clean, magical, and festive. It is a faint memory. What took one hour to undo took many more hours to clean up.<br />
Porter went through his gifts like a little terror! He couldn't hold the suspense any longer and wanted to know what was in every single gift. Tyson on the other hand wanted to know who each gift was for. He would then bring it to that person and had to wait and see what it was they got. He was just as excited when it was for someone else as he was for his own gifts. I can still here his little gasp of surprise and him yelling "Mom this is for YOU!" Aubrey was just excited to be in the middle of the madness, she had no idea what to do with her presents, so we helped her out. She got the giggles when she saw what was inside of them. She is our little angel baby, I think her presence brings everyone in this family joy.<br />
I am thankful for another beautiful Christmas year. I just love that despite this crazy world we live in, there seems to always be this special time of year when people are a little bit kinder, a little bit softer, where the spirit of Christ seems to be more alive in all of us. I hope to be the type of mother that can keep this spirit in my home all year long, but what a beautiful thing to have so much of the world looking to have that same spirit during this time of year. It is what makes this time of year so MAGICAL! Merry Christmas!<br />

Christmas Eve was the day they had been waiting for! The day they had counted down for! And finally it was heeeere! The excitement was in the air this day. I woke up early and began all the cooking that needed to be done for Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas day breakfast, Christmas day dinner, and of course the Santa cookies. I spent a good 4 hours in the kitchen that morning, and when all was finally done and cleaned up, we had an afternoon to spare before our activities that evening. So we bundled up the family and headed over to the dome park by the Provo temple for our first sledding trip of the year. It was a beautiful day with sunshine and warmth. Which meant the snow was pure ice, and those kids FLEW down that hill! Dad was at the bottom ready to save them from oncoming danger, and to help haul the sleds back up the steep hill. It was fun to watch. Aubrey and I stayed at the top of the hill ready to push them down and laugh and their spills. It was a great winter activity, refreshing to be outside again. We finished the activity off with a Subway lunch.Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08525802462208187890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-137676061595773055.post-32710047594994686922013-12-28T08:43:00.004-08:002013-12-28T08:43:41.436-08:00Decorating for Christmas<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The kids were begging to decorate for Thanksgiving, about 2 days before we left town for Thanksgiving. Guilt swept in, knowing we hadn't decorated for Halloween and now Thanksgiving, but I saw no point in hauling things down from the attic for 2 days of enjoyment. So instead we took out the Christmas bins and started making the house a winter wonderland. Porter is my little mini-me, he loves decorating for holidays and it seems like it is one of his favorite parts of the season. After helping put out all the decorations he got to work with paper and markers, taping christmas trees and snowmen all over the walls. Soon snowflakes were cut out and hanging from every room. He is my little artist, paper and pen in hand at the drop of a hat. Tyson on the other hand he was thinking all about Santa Claus and was putting the Santa hat on everyone. Aubrey was just curious as can be, and she would slowly reach out to touch the lights and then giggle in excitement. We sure do love these little kids, and seeing the magic of Christmas through their sweet little eyes.Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08525802462208187890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-137676061595773055.post-57336960275556545292013-12-18T14:10:00.000-08:002013-12-18T14:10:13.287-08:00Family Photos of the past....A little stroll down memory lane.....<br />

My goodness this little girl cracks me up. She eyes the spread in front of her, complete with her favorites - string cheese and puffs - then notices Porter's untouched corn dog and dives in for the goods. I got one good picture before Porter rescued his lunch. </div><div>Today is my moms birthday. I tried to call all day and finally found out she's on a cruise. What a way to spend your birthday, right? I would love to know how many cruises shes been on now, mom. I lost count years ago. :). So happy that she's doing one of her favorite things today. And I am so grateful to have my mom as MY mom. She's been there for me my entire life. She's been the one I confide in, my shoulder to cry on, a listening ear, a helpful hand, answers to prayers, and so much more. I hope to be the type of mother she's been to me, for my children. What more could I ask? I wish she'd given me her cute little legs. :)<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkbJQwOPomAPMGuwL0Gnz4PDpzLzMl-O2hf_xxsE-oQ3LcAxjhyphenhyphenMi4eAb-euduEquVcLEcdo5X0xdjZ7goAClG7l22VKVvINlHSOsv144rhWPsvDDEuBp1tKsDUQ6XtqOBkFJkMekm6oY/s640/blogger-image-1924659165.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkbJQwOPomAPMGuwL0Gnz4PDpzLzMl-O2hf_xxsE-oQ3LcAxjhyphenhyphenMi4eAb-euduEquVcLEcdo5X0xdjZ7goAClG7l22VKVvINlHSOsv144rhWPsvDDEuBp1tKsDUQ6XtqOBkFJkMekm6oY/s640/blogger-image-1924659165.jpg"></a></div></div>Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08525802462208187890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-137676061595773055.post-84336740326085263912013-11-05T19:30:00.001-08:002013-11-05T19:30:03.864-08:00Halloween 2013This summer Jared found a site online that was clearance-ing out Halloween costumes for $2.50/costume. We picked transformer costumes for the entire family. At that price it seemed like a sin not to buy the adult costumes. Then we tried them on and it felt like a sin wearing them in public! I at least felt pretty silly. But the kids seemed to enjoy it. We spent Halloween morning at foothill elementary school watching the costume parade. There are some pretty creative moms out there! Wow. That evening we headed to highland for the annual trick or treating with cousins. The kids filled their buckets to the rim! Aubrey was bundled up in a blanket the entire time and passed back and forth between mom and dad but she loved being outside in the middle of the action. Time sure does fly, seems like we walked this same neighborhood trick-or-treating just yesterday and that was one year ago. I was very pregnant and had an achy back. The kids wanted to go longer than me that year. Crazy. Love my kids. <br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrRQNjb2c5kCKF_3_EiQPEHBf-nAK3vBEeajfjnl2TsbKPOmF3T7ay1jZFv0r6N7v3McHeTPbd-2NnTbk3fzYWTQGSqsPORi6yYAI2map4VfWyYyvewhZTmQitlbSXmFO2gCfi_vfNsis/s640/blogger-image--693432985.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrRQNjb2c5kCKF_3_EiQPEHBf-nAK3vBEeajfjnl2TsbKPOmF3T7ay1jZFv0r6N7v3McHeTPbd-2NnTbk3fzYWTQGSqsPORi6yYAI2map4VfWyYyvewhZTmQitlbSXmFO2gCfi_vfNsis/s640/blogger-image--693432985.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBPvV5hM93e4B68Jn5TBZfs6PHdzsPTJhQhnopO1_cvryLyYjqEhd62QHSJ7Sp8RDa-8p3z3B9bNkfxCSSZe6sDkEzS4LfyWsL4FVMVySaxq7KI23Eep-zmeg2CxYyh4amLlff4n_9bPM/s640/blogger-image-670759160.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBPvV5hM93e4B68Jn5TBZfs6PHdzsPTJhQhnopO1_cvryLyYjqEhd62QHSJ7Sp8RDa-8p3z3B9bNkfxCSSZe6sDkEzS4LfyWsL4FVMVySaxq7KI23Eep-zmeg2CxYyh4amLlff4n_9bPM/s640/blogger-image-670759160.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvWVGw2q6ZqolDFwsaYp46VGkdCaLZBFsFqU4vxK1kMMpLBWWWE5kwKWs7Pkwo74WD9s8njUb8mNXWsZIOTeBPiPaeyowrdPpOOD9Ufaz_K0phbsqwXeU2lgqjXcAsFhn57vVqlrS2y7A/s640/blogger-image-639314377.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvWVGw2q6ZqolDFwsaYp46VGkdCaLZBFsFqU4vxK1kMMpLBWWWE5kwKWs7Pkwo74WD9s8njUb8mNXWsZIOTeBPiPaeyowrdPpOOD9Ufaz_K0phbsqwXeU2lgqjXcAsFhn57vVqlrS2y7A/s640/blogger-image-639314377.jpg"></a></div>Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08525802462208187890noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-137676061595773055.post-70114352914790452522013-11-05T19:16:00.001-08:002013-11-05T19:16:36.154-08:00Halloween PumpkinsWe have been painting our pumpkins for Halloween. Porter wanted to enter his pumpkin into the Foothill elementary pumpkin contest which ultimately got us to purchase and decorate our pumpkins this year. Life has been so busy and hectic that we didn't even put up a single decoration this year. I feel a little bad about that. Last year we carved pumpkins for the first time and they ended up looking pretty warped and ugly by the time Halloween came so this year we tried something new. I thought they turned out pretty cute. It's fun to checkout of normal daily routines and spend a couple hours doing nothing but paint with your boys. I'm learning to do that more and more. The household chores are never done anyway so I try to enjoy my little ones and remember that they won't be home all day forever. It's been good for all of us. <div>PS: Tyson yes you did paint your own pumpkin, it was very supervised, hence no pictures of you. Sorry buddy!<br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNAufVPsXCHhBsUXAExDcYFBXblb-ov24Sl3etr7b3ILooVk_1bWe867-YmUQ2mO1FTJCjH8kFSeniz4Zq00WbnTNRTi9Ye4DtsXM1QEoRpL9Z9NTwQ2XGBJJgqtEpJ1xf-xmSBP5sC60/s640/blogger-image--1901915915.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNAufVPsXCHhBsUXAExDcYFBXblb-ov24Sl3etr7b3ILooVk_1bWe867-YmUQ2mO1FTJCjH8kFSeniz4Zq00WbnTNRTi9Ye4DtsXM1QEoRpL9Z9NTwQ2XGBJJgqtEpJ1xf-xmSBP5sC60/s640/blogger-image--1901915915.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8Mna7Bvjj-gEq7rd36duWiRMgZ7NnkxMOPaLO3ZA9FbIae_Txo2olnaBGhL9OAkRi9T0ighYuAdm-XCs5ggFTLiU3IAmBgVazWXAB99VT0_4oi9P3OaTnvqkT1zqvL7Blk8BH7lO7N4M/s640/blogger-image--1270251535.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8Mna7Bvjj-gEq7rd36duWiRMgZ7NnkxMOPaLO3ZA9FbIae_Txo2olnaBGhL9OAkRi9T0ighYuAdm-XCs5ggFTLiU3IAmBgVazWXAB99VT0_4oi9P3OaTnvqkT1zqvL7Blk8BH7lO7N4M/s640/blogger-image--1270251535.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKCqirG_a01ceDB38zMg4EgBeMMtlq8GgaWPREE-KXT715c0mnmz5XUyNOWeobfWzZBdfCu-8iRevvLKNN5c9MrpFuvMy4B7Dgm9_LhjumtdmfbayOf_J1KYr7vwdVz6mPVSlpQjTpjfM/s640/blogger-image-59067049.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKCqirG_a01ceDB38zMg4EgBeMMtlq8GgaWPREE-KXT715c0mnmz5XUyNOWeobfWzZBdfCu-8iRevvLKNN5c9MrpFuvMy4B7Dgm9_LhjumtdmfbayOf_J1KYr7vwdVz6mPVSlpQjTpjfM/s640/blogger-image-59067049.jpg"></a></div></div>Stacyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08525802462208187890noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-137676061595773055.post-4686300680618451942013-10-06T07:41:00.000-07:002013-10-06T07:41:32.880-07:00Porter's Ultimate Wishlist<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Last night my mom and I were talking on the phone trying to come up with some ideas for Porter for his birthday and Christmas. I had one idea, but my brain was blank. I woke up bright and early this morning and Porter was already up so we sat down and talked about his birthday. I got a good laugh out of our conversation. When I asked what he wanted, he shrugged his shoulders and said, <i>"Well, all the cool things cost too much money, remember?" </i>I agreed and then said, well if you could have anything, what would you want? We started coming up with a wishlist.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1) Transformer - RC or Destructbot</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2) Brachiasaurus Switch-n-Go Dino - <i>"I have the green and yellow dino but I don't have red or orange." </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
At this point, he was blank too. He couldn't think of anything else. I asked him if there was anything he loved playing with at friends or cousins that he didn't have, and a smile started to play upon his lips. <i>"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"</i> he asked. (Blank stare from mom.) And then reveals wish #3.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3) <i>"Lord of the Rings Legos</i> (seriously?) <i>or <u>Ninjago legos</u> or Ironman legos, oooh or <u>Batman legos</u>."</i> We underlined the top picks. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I asked if there was anything else he would like to add to the list. He went to the playroom to see if there was something he might be forgetting. When he came back I asked if he thought of anything else. <i>"Only the one thing I've been wanting my whole entire liffffffe."</i> What's that? <i>"iTouch" </i>Maybe in your next life, buddy. Then came the final, last request.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4) Superman toys.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And with that entertaining list, he declared the list was finished. He is ready for his birthday to come, complete only with a chocolate ninja cake.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The other day a guy came selling apples from his orchard for a pretty good deal. The kids go through apples faster than I can keep up so I thought it was worth it. But man, I had no idea how many apples that would be! We had a hard time figuring out how to get them all into the fridge and still gave some away. So we decided to use some of our apples and make some caramel apples on this fine fall day. Tyson was excited to help, he's been looking forward to it all week. Little does he know, this was the best way to be my big helper. And he still woke up in time to start dipping. :)</div>
