St George Weekend & Everyday Life with Porter

Friday we had carpet cleaners come and clean our carpets. It has been driving me crazy for months, and finally we got it done. Not only does the house feel clean because the carpets are, but it was quite the ordeal getting ready for them to come. Not one item (besides main furniture pieces) could be on the floors, and I had to pull out all the furniture to make sure that no toys or small items were hidden underneath... and there was plenty to be found. A clean house makes me happy. They told us to stay off the carpet for 24 hours to allow it to completely dry. That was a bit impossible so we headed south to St. George for the weekend.

St. George was rainy and overcast and not as warm as usual, but it was still way warmer than what we are used to. They had some of the neatest parks, and Porter loved playing outside. We went swimming twice, which my little boy also loved. It was nice to just have a little r&r with my little family and not worry about a thing. On the way home, Porter burped really loud, for probably the 1st time in his life. It took him by surprise. His eyes grew wide, and he exclaimed, "Whoa! That sounded like a frog!" He spent the next 30 minutes trying to duplicate his masterpiece, unsuccessfully. Isn't it funny how boys are? Even at two years old?

While we were in St. George, Porter wanted to hear all about the baby in mommy's tummy. I was laying on the couch and he insisted on having my shirt pulled up so he could see my tummy. He kept rubbing my tummy and saying "Hi baby, hi." After about five minutes or so of talking about the baby and his brother, he lifted his shirt and showed mommy and daddy HIS tummy. He was very detailed in pointing out his tummy and his "button".

Porter has been very adamant every Sunday that he wears a tie just like his daddy. Today he pulled out some of his ties from his closet and insisted that he wear them. He is in a really great stage where he LOVES to have his picture taken, so he was excited to have his picture taken wearing his ties. We have been slowly but surely getting the baby room ready, and Porter likes to have every part in it. When I launder clothes and put them on hangers, he is the one to hang them up in the closet. He likes to try out the rocking chair, crib, and baby swing... even though they have all been sitting there untouched for the last year. I didn't take any pictures in St. George, but here are some cute ones

That must have been a nice getaway! It sounds like Porter is slowly getting used to the baby idea. It sure is fun. Hope you're feeling well!

Where do you get those cute ties? I have been looking for Ethan lately, but seriously cannot find one. And he too, wants to look like his daddy. Aren't boys so cute that way!

The ties are ADORABLE! I have been scared to get Jude any. He uses pretty much everything as a weapon, and I can only see ties as a choking disaster! But MAN, are they cute! I might be changing my mind on this one.

My brother and sister-in-law (the photographers) are coming to town next week for about three weeks. He saw that you had a broken down Mac from your comment, and he was wondering what kind it was and what the issue was.
