I think 1/2 the fun of being a mom is hearing what comes out of your kids mouths. I get so many laughs from my little guy. It is fun to share the things he said with Jared when he comes home from work, and sharing a giggle together. I've got to keep a record of these things because there are always new ones to remember.
Yesterday:
Me: Porter, guess what we are doing today? We are going to Maylee and Spencer's house!
Porter: But where is Richard? (Maylee & Spencer's dad...)
Me: Richard will be there too.
Porter: No. Spencer is sleeping. He's tired.
Me: Maylee and Spencer are awake, they are waiting to play with Porter.
Porter: No. Maylee and Spencer are sleeping. They SO tired.
Last Week:
Porter: (Looking out the window.) Mommy, where did Daddy go?
Me: Daddy went to work.
Porter: To work?
Me: Yep, Daddy is at work.
Porter: Yeah, Daddy go to work and eat candy.
(Jared keeps a candy stash in his desk at work for when Porter comes to visit him. Apparently, Porter thinks Daddy goes to work to eat candy.)
A Few Days Ago:
Porter: Daddy, I want a drink.
Jared: (Drinking a V8) Porter, this is yucky.
Porter: I want it. (Takes a sip.) Yeah... that's yucky.
Every Tuesday Night:
(This isn't funny, but it melts my heart every single week. Jared and I come home from date night and Porter runs into our arms.)
Porter: Mommy! I missed you!
& usually at the beginning of the night before we leave...
Porter: Bye Mom, have fun! Drive safe. (He repeats our goodbye routines, apparently.)

So, I finally realized tonight why I love watching the show "Ace of Cakes". Duff reminds me so much of Porter! If you haven't seen it, you should check it out.
