yesterday porter got a letter in the mail from grandma porter. he was so excited to open it up. i began to read the letter to him. it begins:
Dear Porter,
Hi sweetheart, how are you? I hope you're doing well. Grandma misses you so much. She needs someone to come to her house and play cars with her. Do you know anyone who likes to play cars?
Porter nods his head, smiling.
I wonder who the could be?
Porter yells out, "Andrew!" (Laughter)
You like to play cars, don't you? (more nodding) Maybe you could come play some day soon. Grandma would like that.
"Mom, can we got to Grandma and Papa's house?"

Wow, it's been awhile since I stopped by. You are such a wonderful person. I love how much you love your two darling boys and what a great relationship you have with extended family. It's wonderful to hear you express your frutrations as well and see your great example of overcoming challenges.
I have been meaning to thank you once again for taking our family picture. It will be many years before we are all together again for a picture. You have given us a treasure. As I mailed out Christmas cards for the first time in several years I thought of you. Thanks for your friendship, your beautiful example of Christian living, it's truly an honor to know you.
