Eggs and Toast
This little man and I have a little morning routine going on. When he gets hungry for breakfast he takes my hand and leads me into the kitchen and sweetly asks "Do you want to eat, mommy?" I say, "Yes, what do you want to eat Tyson? We have cereal, pancakes, oatmeal?" And he always answers the same, "No, eggs & toast." I begin pulling out the ingredients and as soon as the bread is on the counter, he climbs from his chair up onto the counter and asks, "Want to help me, mommy? Want to me help me?" (He means help you.) He has taken on the job of making toast. As soon as the toast is in, he exclaims "Got it," and climbs back onto his chair. Sometime during the time cooking eggs, the toast will pop out, and he will yell, "Mommy, it popped!" over and over (and progressively louder and louder) until I remove the toast. Even though the eggs still have a couple more minutes, he spends the next few minutes, yelling "Porter! Porter, it's ready!" trying to lure him into the chair next to him.
It's the same exact routine every single morning, and the same exact lines. I'll admit I am a bit tired of the eggs and toast, but I am not tired of this sweet little helper one bit at all.
