...would you ask if they needed help? Or would you just jump in and try to help them?
This was part of a talk that I heard during General Conference today. Elder Rasband was the speaker, and he went on to say that sometimes the offer to "call if you need any help" is completely useless, that when serving others sometimes we just need to do it.
It made me think about the outpouring of support that I have had this past month, especially this past week. How thankful I am for great people around me that have exemplified this council. I have had family, friends, neighbors, and ward members that have wrapped their arms around me in love and support. Without asking for help, family members have come and stayed the night to help. Sister in laws have come and taken my kids for the day. Neighbors have taken my kids to play. Meals have been brought to my house. Flowers delivered to my door, cards in the mail, a visit just to cheer me up. I am so thankful to be surrounded by such wonderful people, who uplift and strengthen me, and have selflessly served me. This wonderful talk paired with real life examples have taught me how to best serve others.
Thank you to all for your kind words and deeds. Your selfless acts of service were such a wonderful gift to both me and to my family! (I will be sharing more on the past month's experience later this week.)
