We felt so honored to be invited to my great Uncle Jay's annual Easter celebration again this year. Rumor has it he has been doing this for over 20 years now, and even though he is 92 he isn't stopping! I have loved getting to know this side of my family a little bit better each time we go to Porterville, especially the Rowser family that Uncle Jay lives with now - they are all
so nice!

After a yummy lunch, the kids enjoyed an easter egg hunt where they both scored five dollars. Porter is especially excited because anytime he wants to buy a toy at the store I ask him "Do you have any money?" and he reluctantly says no and puts it back. "Now I can go buy a toy mom, because I have MONEY!" |

Uncle Jay hand writes stamped postcards with all the kids names and addresses and attaches them to a balloon and we all let them loose. On the postcard it says, "If you find this postcard, please send it back to us and tell us where you found it." Just 1 week ago someone's balloon was found from last years party! This was Tyson's favorite part, he waited patiently for his balloon and was the last person to let go. |

Uncle Jay picks out gifts for all the kids, Porter got a set of markers, perfect for our little artist. And Tyson got a little stuffed lion that he exclaimed "It's a doggy!" and ran around making dog noises. |
|
My brother Jeff was able to come up with us again this year, and Tyson was smitten. Everytime I tried to get him out of the car he would stubbornly tell me "NO!" and then point and say "Jeff!" |

After the party we headed up the street to the old Porterville sign. I need to take a video tomorrow of Porter saying "Porterville" it is too die for! We even went up to the old cemetary where many of my ancestors were buried. These two were the pioneers that came and settled Porterville. I loved walking and seeing all the familiar names. We did some family history work in the temple the day before for our own family names, and then after seeing this, it ignited that family history fire in me! Can't wait to get back into it. |

What a "great" uncle for putting that together every year. That would be so much fun to see extended family every once in awhile.
