I'm a soccer mom! :)

I can't believe the fall session of soccer is nearly over and I just barely took my camera out for the first time.  I can't believe I have a child old enough to play soccer!  I am so proud of my little Porter and his first year in soccer.  The kids are so cute out there.  It is such a broad range of ability and attention span.  There are a lot of kids tripping over each other, the ball, even their own feet.  Some kids cry and refuse to play.  Some kick the ball the wrong direction, even score on the wrong team.  There is dandelion picking, day dreaming, oh and sometimes some intense soccer playing.  :)

Porter is interesting, because although it seems that he doesn't care that much about the game, he loves running out there with all the kids, even if he doesn't get to kick it often.  He runs with the herd back and forth, back and forth nearly the entire game with no complaints.  When they are winning he is running around with his hands and fingers up.  They don't keep score at this age, but Porter does.  If you want to know how many points his team has just check his little fingers.  The last quarter of the game he is likely to be one of those kids picking dandelions, his back to the ball, off in his own little world.  He isn't the best player out there for sure, but he hasn't given up and he has improved with each week.  He is very concerned when someone falls and stops to make sure they're okay.  If they cry he's the one to alert the coach.  He has such a kind heart.  I'm grateful he has had this opportunity to play for the first time and start to gain an understanding for the game and what to do.  He will continue to play with this team in the Spring, it should be fun!

The cutest group of little soccer players you'll ever see!  Go green!

Both of my kids favorite part of the day, practicing with the team.  Porter loves practicing and Tyson loves being out there with the team.  (And it's so adorable when you spontaneously catch them holding hands or giving each other a hug.)  Tyson is very anxious to play soccer, and when we get ready he wants his own soccer shirt and soccer socks. :)
