Aubrey turned 2 weeks old this week. She is still such an amazing little baby, has such a wonderful little temperament but this week we've been concerned about her. She was gaining weight at 1 week old, but when we took her in for her 2 week checkup, she had lost weight between week 1 and week 2, and was still not back to her birth weight. She has been sleeping through the night almost her entire life, and we now have doctor's orders to wake her up for feedings. We have been trying to get her to eat more often during the day, and also wake her up in the night for feedings. You would think that after the third baby I would have breastfeeding down, but it has been a struggle with every single one of my babies. I thought for sure I wouldn't have problems with this little girl, she was nursing like a champ from the very 1st day, and it "felt" so much better than it did with my boys. But here we are again, taking her in to the lactation clinic 1-2 times a week trying to get things figured out. Such an emotional roller-coaster for a mother, trying to do whats best to your baby and feeling like you are failing at it. We're just going to keep on trying! I finally got a couple of pictures of her when she is awake- she has pretty blue eyes just like her big brothers. Such a sweet girl.
