Porter Starts Tball

Last week Porter started t-ball, his first team sport!  When Jared took him to his first practice on Thursday he was a bit leery because Porter had zero interest.  While all the other kids were eagerly practicing catching and hitting the ball, Porter was more interested in sneaking over to the playground.  Jared pretty much let him do his thing.  Saturday morning game time came, and he was a different kid.  He lined up next to the other kids and was practicing throwing and catching with the coach.  I think when the t-shirts and hats rolled out he got even more excited.  They all looked so cute in their 3 sizes too big t-shirts and over-sized baseball caps.  He loved hitting the ball and running the bases.  I think the fielding side of the game got boring after a while but who can really blame him?  They all found ways to entertain themselves.  I guess at this stage they don't have innings or keep score.  Every player hits and runs all the bases, and then they switch teams.  It is helping them learn to run the bases, and to throw it to 1st when they catch it.  It seems like he had a lot of fun, and of course we just ate every second up thinking it was all adorable.
