We spent the entire day in Logan, UT helping a friend who was running the Bear 100 which is a long distance race- 100 miles to be exact through mountain terrain. I was blown away that such a thing existed and what these runners were capable of doing. They started at 6am. We last saw our friend at 10pm. He had ran for 14 hours, had traveled over 62 miles and still have about 40 more miles to go. He ran through the entire night into the morning and finished about 11am the following morning. The kids were little troopers. We didn't anticipate how cold it would be. It was 37 degrees. So they opted to stay in the warm car almost the whole day. They just anxiously waited to get to the hotel to swim. We felt awful when we learned the hotel was on a college campus, and had no pool. It was a nice room but very small and not enough room for a family of 5 so after checking in on our runner one last time we packed up our stuff and headed for home at 11pm arriving back just after 1am. The kids were angels and even slept in until 9am the next day so we all got the rest we needed. It was an adventurous day!
