Christmas Eve Sledding

Christmas Eve was the day they had been waiting for!  The day they had counted down for!  And finally it was heeeere!  The excitement was in the air this day.  I woke up early and began all the cooking that needed to be done for Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas day breakfast, Christmas day dinner, and of course the Santa cookies.  I spent a good 4 hours in the kitchen that morning, and when all was finally done and cleaned up, we had an afternoon to spare before our activities that evening.  So we bundled up the family and headed over to the dome park by the Provo temple for our first sledding trip of the year.  It was a beautiful day with sunshine and warmth.  Which meant the snow was pure ice, and those kids FLEW down that hill!  Dad was at the bottom ready to save them from oncoming danger, and to help haul the sleds back up the steep hill.  It was fun to watch.  Aubrey and I stayed at the top of the hill ready to push them down and laugh and their spills.  It was a great winter activity, refreshing to be outside again.  We finished the activity off with a Subway lunch.
